Maersk Polska is part of the Danish company A.P. Møller-Mærsk A/S, one of the world’s leading transport and logistics industry players and one of the largest maritime container operators on the planet. It operates in 130 countries around the world and employs over 110,000 people.
Maersk Group is a global Prologis customer, now occupying a total of more than 617,000 square meters in 35 warehouse buildings on three continents: Asia, North America and Europe.
Maersk has been developing its operations in Poland since 1991. Due to its dynamic development in the vicinity of Wrocław, the company has decided to open new regional headquarters at Prologis Park Wrocław III. Maersk has leased 6,207 sqm of space in the recently opened DC4 building, of which 414 m2 will be offices.
This is the first contract in Europe concluded between Maersk and Prologis. The building will also provide a production distribution center for a well-known Danish chain of shops selling stationery, home decorations, gifts, toys and gadgets from the e-commerce industry.
“We are well acquainted with the high quality of spaces and services guaranteed by Prologis. Cooperation based on close partnership, mutual understanding of business needs and flexibility means that, for the first time in Europe, we have decided to move into Prologis warehouses that we know so well worldwide,” said Krzysztof Paluchowski, Warehouse and Distribution Project Management Manager at Maersk..
A business-friendly park
The DC4 building at Prologis Park Wrocław III provides modern warehouse space on a total area of 49,000 m2. DC4 is the largest speculative facility in the history of Prologis in Poland, marked out by an effective supply chain, a focus on ecology, and excellent working conditions created with employees in mind. This strategically located logistics park, near the capital of Lower Silesia, is adjacent to the airport, which operates direct flights to Warsaw, Frankfurt, Vienna, Copenhagen and Munich. The western ring road of Wrocław city center – the A8 highway – runs alongside the park. Like all new Prologis buildings, DC4 will be BREEAM accredited.
“Talks with Maersk were extremely focused. Knowledge of the customer’s needs, and the experience we have gained through cooperation in other markets, turned out to be crucial when concluding the contract. We knew the importance of flexibility, the high standards of the space itself, and, of course, the location. We adapted to Maersk’s requirements and deadlines, because nothing is impossible with Prologis!” said Marcin Kruszewski, Leasing and Customer Experience Manager at Prologis.
Quality above all else
DC4 has a clear height of 12 meters, reinforced floor load-bearing capacity, and increased insulation of the walls and roof. Motion sensors are programmed in accordance with customer needs and guidelines, resulting in reduced lighting costs.
The building is equipped with skylights and window panels in the façade, providing up to 12.5 percent natural daylight indoors. It is also equipped with photovoltaic panels and solar collectors. A dedicated team of Prologis property managers will ensure that cooperation with customers runs smoothly, as part of stress-free operations for the park as a whole.
Employee friendly park
For greater safety and well-being of employees, Maersk’s warehouse and office areas will be illuminated with the highest quality LED lighting system. A wide range of similar solutions designed with employees in mind make this park a friendly place to work.
Prologis' PARKLife™ initiative provides rest areas, barbecue shelters and even outdoor BookBox libraries for everyone working at the park. In addition, Prologis Park Wrocław III offers numerous parking spaces for cars and trucks as well as round-the-clock security. For people who prefer alternative modes of transport, shelters for bicycles and bicycle repair stations as well as charging stations for electric vehicles are available. The park also provides great accessibility via public transport.
Whether it's the efficiency of logistics operations, the highest level of service or the comfort of employees, kept promises are… Made in Prologis.
