As part of an expansion of the in-demand Park Prague D1 East, Prologis constructed a new 5,200 square meter build-to-suit for Nagel Česko, a subsidiary of the Nagel-Group, a European food logistics provider which specializes in temperature-controlled goods. Simultaneously, Nagel extended its existing lease for 13,700 square meters at neighboring Prologis Park Prague D1 West, confirming the high level of trust the longtime customer has in Prologis’ ability to meet all its complex distribution needs.
Distributing sensitive food products is a highly specialized business, requiring the most modern and up-to-date technological solutions for the whole supply chain as well as a strong partnership between customer and developer to ensure maximum operational efficiencies are achieved.
Prologis, with its long experience in the sector, worked closely with Nagel to develop the ideal facility for temperature-controlled goods distribution. It had a clear height of 10 meters, floor loading capacity of 5 tonnes per square meter, ESFR sprinkler system, drive-in doors, wide maneuvering truck court and 10 docks. The facility was built to BREEAM standards and fitted with external LED lighting and a smart metering system for remote monitoring and maximum control of utilities, all overseen by a dedicated onsite Prologis property management team.
The location of Prologis Park Prague D1 East is a big draw for Nagel and why it was so keen for extra space at the park – a request which Prologis was able to comply with through its highly adaptive approach to meeting its customers’ needs. The D1 zone offers an ideal platform for companies operating throughout the Central European region, which explains the consistently strong demand that we see there. The park is located approximately 11 kilometers southeast of Prague at the Říčany/Jesenice junction, with its proximity to the major D1 motorway offering excellent access to Prague city center, as well as numerous domestic and foreign trade routes.
