Prologis, leader in logistics real estate, provides its clients with modern warehouses and comfortable workspaces while also caring for the health of their employees. As part of a nationwide program for health awareness and promotion, the company organized free medical check-ups in 18 logistics parks across Poland in 2024. Thanks to mobile medical units, nearly 850 employees of companies renting warehouses from Prologis were able to assess their health. Remarkably, 160 individuals, or over 19% of those examined, received referrals for further diagnostics, highlighting the importance of regular health screenings.
For the past three years, Prologis has been implementing a nationwide health awareness and promotion program targeting employees of companies operating in its logistics parks. The initiative provides access to free medical check-ups conducted in mobile medical offices equipped with specialized diagnostic devices.
18 Days Dedicated to Health
During this year's campaign, held from August to October 2024, qualified medical staff screened nearly 850 people at 18 Prologis parks in Poland. Using state-of-the-art equipment, the examinations included dermatological screenings for potential skin cancer, cardiological tests to assess heart health, ophthalmological screenings for vision impairments, and diabetological evaluations to determine the risk of diabetes.
"As Prologis, we care for our clients and their employees. We provide efficient warehouse spaces tailored to the needs of the companies we work with, as well as fostering a healthy working environment. Our goal is to deliver added value, which is why we decided to organize—together with our clients—preventive medical check-ups within our logistics parks. We are delighted with the high turnout and proud to have helped nearly 850 people check their health," commented Paweł Sapek, SVP, Regional Head for Central Europe.
A Heart in Check: Visits to the Cardiologist
Among the preventive screenings offered by Prologis, clients most frequently opted for heart health assessments to support the early detection of cardiovascular diseases. The mobile cardiology bus visited ten Prologis parks in Poland, offering free ECG exams. This quick, non-invasive test provides valuable insights into heart health, identifying irregularities in heart function, electrolyte imbalances, or abnormal blood flow. A total of 449 individuals underwent electrocardiography, with approximately 16% referred for further diagnostics.
“Sunny Patrol”: Visits to the Dermatologist
Under the banner "Sunny Patrol," screenings focused on identifying moles and skin changes as part of skin cancer prevention. Employees at five Prologis parks—in Ruda Śląska, Dąbrowa, Chorzów, Wrocław, and Gliwice—benefited from videodermatoscope-based diagnostics, which allow for 70- to 200-fold magnification of skin features. This non-invasive and painless procedure screened 238 individuals, with 18% referred for further surgical consultations.
“Take a Closer Look”: Visits to the Ophthalmologist
This year’s campaign introduced eye screenings for the first time. The mobile ophthalmology office visited Prologis parks in Janki and Żerań, Warsaw, offering tests using the Welch Allyn VS-100 autorefractor. This device provided precise measurements for common vision issues such as myopia, astigmatism, anisometropia, and strabismus. A total of 112 patients underwent eye exams, with 34% referred for additional diagnostics.
Sweet Health: Visits to the Diabetologist
An estimated 2 million people in Poland have diabetes, with only about 25% being unaware of their condition. Prologis Park Wrocław V sought to address this issue by inviting employees to the mobile diabetology unit. Each participant could measure their blood glucose levels, learn their BMI, and consult with qualified medical staff. Experts also offered advice on diet and healthy eating habits. In just one day, 38 individuals were screened, with about 13% referred for further consultations.
Vibrant Parks
The three-year nationwide health awareness and promotion program by Prologis is an integral part of the PARKlife™ project. This initiative aims to create safe, comfortable, and employee-friendly work and recreational spaces. Examples include green areas and relaxation zones equipped with deckchairs, hammocks, benches, barbecue spaces, outdoor gyms, and multipurpose sports fields. Additionally, there are outdoor libraries stocked with bestsellers and low-emission transport solutions, such as covered bike racks with repair stations, seasonal bike maintenance campaigns, and electric vehicle charging points.
