The leader in radio technology systems, Scanreco AB, is opening its first production and logistics center with Prologis, and its first project in Poland. A high-class 17,000 square-meter warehouse is currently under construction at Prologis Park Łódź, over 7,000 sqm of which is BTS space designed specifically for Scanreco. This tailor-made space will be dedicated for the manufacturing of Scanrecoremote-control solutions for specialized machines, such as construction cranes, concrete pumps and drilling platforms.

The latest investment at Prologis Park Łódź is good news for local communities. Thanks to financial support granted by the Łódź Economic Zone, Scanreco plans to employ about 300 people at the new space.
A green warehouse in every way

That is why we offered Scanreco a number of solutions helping it to minimize its carbon footprint, while maintaining high operational efficiency and work comfort. Thanks to these solutions, we are again ready to go beyond the four walls and roof of a production facility in providing customer excellent service”, emphasized Piotr Lenczewski, Leasing & Customer Experience Manager Prologis.
The space designed for Scanreco will be supplied with energy produced on the roof by means of 50kW photovoltaic panels. In addition to solar power, the facility will also use green, certified energy from Tauron, while energy-efficient lighting in the building will be ensured by the highest quality LED system.
The space will also come complete with five electric vehicle charging stations, a grey water recovery system, and a solar collector for heating water in social spaces.
Scanreco is already taking steps to enhance quality of life for its future employees at Prologis Park Łódź - in keeping with the Prologis PARKlife™ initiative, a place to relax in the fresh air, with comfortable benches, tables and a sail roof, will be created next to the building. Around 80 trees and 300 bushes will meanwhile be planted to make down-time even more pleasant and enjoyable.
Consulting company CBRE brokered the transaction. “Our customer wanted a key location that would allow effective distribution in Poland and Europe, while at the same time providing it with good access to the local labor market. We are glad that these needs could be met by Prologis Park Łódź,” Rafał Karolczak, Consultant CBRE.
Above standard
Scanreco’s BTS production and logistics center is being built in the DC2A building at Prologis Park Łódź, where almost 10,000 square meters of top-quality modern warehouse space is also available. For greater safety and working comfort, natural daylight covers as much as 12.5 per cent of the building area, thanks to panels above sixteen docking areas, which are equipped with traffic lights.
The building will feature a reinforced floor allowing above-standard loads of up to 10 tonnes per square meter, and thermal insulation throughout with internal surface temperature above 16°C, exceeding the market standard. In addition, the building will be equipped with destratification fans allowing control over air temperature distribution, resulting in reduced operating costs.
