Prologis has extensive plans for Poland in 2018, following a year in which we leased a record 940,800 square meters and delivered five buildings totaling 93,000 square meters countrywide.
We will continue to pursue our proven strategy of selective investment in Poland’s key markets, as well as maintain the superior quality of our property management services, which helped us end 2017 with an occupancy rate of 96.2 percent and maintain a customer retention rate over 80 percent.
We plan to launch three new investments in Poland in 2018 in key logistics markets, increasing in our presence in the busy Warsaw area with the expansion of Prologis Park Janki, building a third park in the Poznan region and creating our first park in the Lodz region of Central Poland.
In addition to constructing logistics facilities, Prologis sees industrial real estate as an opportunity to design optimal solutions to meet customer needs and demands with new technology. We consistently invest in technologies that increase energy efficiency and reduce our tenants’ operating costs.
In 2018, we are implementing a property and facility management program in all our parks across Poland. The benefits will include saving time and money through the optimization of tasks; instant information exchange between tenant, manager and subcontractors; and full control over data and processes with complete documentation available in one place with one click.
We also implemented the RhinoSCADA system, which provides real-time and continuous control over utilities, enabling significant savings.
These projects will broaden and improve our portfolio of properties and strengthen our position as the logistics real estate leader in the Polish market.
The European logistics market is changing rapidly: Supply chains are being restructured; economies are expanding; and e-commerce is accelerating. Prologis strives to keep ahead of these trends. In recent research conducted by Prologis, Poland scored well in multiple categories that define Europe’s most desirable logistics locations and is among the fastest- growing logistics markets in Europe. With our Polish investments, we are building the future of logistics in Europe.
