Behind the scenes of a global automotive company like the BMW Group there’s a massive logistics network, demanding the most modern warehouses in the very best locations. We were proud when BMW put their trust in us back in 2016 by moving into a 25,000-sqm built-to-suit facility designed to meet their specific requirements at Prologis Park Bratislava, and now, we’re delighted that the company has decided to significantly expand in the park with the addition of a new 10,000-sqm extension to its premises.
Negotiations for the expansion started at the end of last year, and as with BMW’s original space at Prologis Park Bratislava, we’ve focused on maximizing the potential of the new facilities through tailor-made solutions. BMW’s long-term lease for the completed new area should begin in Q2 2023.
The new 10,000-sqm section of BMW’s space at Prologis Park Bratislava will provide even more personalized features. Part of the construction will be a “social zone” boosting job satisfaction for BMW employees. Other features developed specifically with BMW’s operations in mind will include opening skylights, landing lights, jumbo-sized docking bays, and tailored electrical and data installations.
The new BMW “social zone” will complement shared wellbeing facilities at Prologis Park Bratislava under our PARKlife™ initiative, including a five-a-side football pitch, a BBQ area, outdoor gym and bike shelters. With all these additional features and more pushing the envelope of standard warehouse services, BMW’s facility will help the company employ and retain a high-quality workforce.
