Prologis offers much more than just warehouse spaces. The company creates friendly places for working and living, not only for customers’ employees, but also for couriers, suppliers, and all others who use its parks, including local residents. To make Prologis Park Chorzów even more user-friendly, a self-service Żabka Nano store has been launched, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The arrival of the innovative store concept is a new chapter in Prologis’ PARKlife™ initiative for improving quality of life at its parks.
Żabka Nano is the largest network of autonomous stores in Europe. Almost 60 Żabka Nano stores supported by artificial intelligence are already operating in Poland.
The new store in Prologis Park Chorzów is open 24 hours a day and allows quick shopping without cashiers, queues or physical payment. Customers simply bring their payment card close to the terminal and enter a phone number or scan a QR code from the Żappka application to get inside. They then choose their products from the shelf, pack them into a bag or backpack and leave. Payment is collected automatically with a confirmation sent through the app, by e-mail, or via text message.
The assortment in Żabka Nano stores is adapted to the specific location and customer profile. In Prologis Park Chorzów, visitors will find almost 700 different products, including Żabka's own brands of nutritious and healthy snacks, juices and smoothies, ready meals and freshly ground espresso coffee.
“Thanks to Żabka Nano, shopping has become not only easier and faster, but also more accessible to all people at our logistics park in Chorzów. This solution has been implemented mainly for the nearly 2,500 employees who come to work at Prologis Park Chorzów every day. They will find it much easier to buy a snack or lunch or do some quick shopping before going home,” said Paweł Kowalczyk, Real Estate & Customer Experience, Prologis Senior Manager.
Żabka Nano stores use innovative technology with artificial intelligence in a camera system which uses computer vision and machine learning to recognize products taken off shelves and automatically finalize payments after customers leave the store. The system does not identify customers and does not store images, guaranteeing security and privacy.
Opening the first Żabka Nano store at a Prologis park in Poland is another stage in Prologis’ PARKlife™ initiative, which focuses on creating friendly, modern and attractive workplaces. Among other things, PARKlife™ includes outdoor relaxation zones and areas for individual and team sports, bicycle shelters with service facilities, and charging stations for electric vehicles.
