Our long-term customer Nippon Express, a supplier for the German car industry, has now expanded its lease at Prologis Park Pilsen II after experiencing the benefits brought by this strategic logistics base.
Having leased 6,941 square meters at the park since Q2 2020, Nippon Express has expanded by leasing 5,790 additional square meters in adjacent areas of the same building, DC1, taking its total leased area to 12,731 square meters. The lease was brokered by Savills.
For Nippon Express, Prologis Park Pilsen II is a center of gravity for its European supply chains. The company buys materials from producers in the Balkan countries, and sells finished products to German car manufacturers in Bavaria and Baden. The warehouse in West Bohemia sits at the heart of this international supply route.
“Our experience at Prologis Park Pilsen II to date encouraged us to lease more space here,” said Petr Kavalek, Branch Manager at Nippon Express. “The park is ideally situated to bridge the gap between our suppliers and our customers, and with support from Prologis, it has become a vital part of our European supply chain.”
The additional space leased by Nippon Express will initially be used for storage of surplus heat pump production. In the future, the company plans to utilize the space for expanded production of cable harnesses to be used in passenger car production in Germany.
